Where: Be Live Experience, Tenerife
Wearing: Mainly River Island Mini
Ola! Another one ticked off our bucket list and I’m not going to lie, this one was pretty strange!
As a huge lover of christmas (im practically an elf! 💁🏽) i wasn’t sure if i would enjoy this as much as the kids. Especially being in blazing sunshine and the pool instead of snuggling around the fire in thick Xmas PJs, hardly Christmassy is it?
Travelling anywhere in peak winter with young children always has its downsides I guess…
Tyler had tonsillitis just days before we flew which was absolutely awful and we wasn’t actually sure if we would be able to go if the antibiotics didn’t pull him through.
But with the thought of Santa waiting for us in the sunshine, we packed up our summer bits, Christmas eve pjs and jumped on our flight to Tenerife.
4 hours later, we arrived to the warm sea air and blazing hot sun! Hello Holidays!
Also, hello sick daddy who had caught Tyler’s tonsillitis 🙈
Note to self: do not drink the kids juice on the sly, when they have a contagious illness FFS.
We stayed at hotel; Be Live Experience, playa da la arena, booked via TUI and was amazed to find they had decked the whole hotel out with christmas cheer.
Literally just as I had hoped!
Floating icebergs, a lit up santa in his sleigh over the indoor pool and even a snow man and his ‘santa stop here’ sign that Ava kept kissing, every time we went passed.
Xmas eve we had mulled wine making on the pool side and a foam party, giving me that white Christmas I was so missing back home. (Yeah right, Cherry!)
We missed a few of the other Christmas activities due to Ava then also catching tonsillitis and us having to rush her to the emergency doctors. FYI it’s not cheap!
Christmas Day we were absolutely spoilt from the moment we woke to the late evening. Everything was magical and this reminded me why we had popped this on to our bucket list in the first place!
The hotel held a Grand Christmas Gala dinner which was absolutely amazing. Check out out video!
With a few more days resting by the pool, we finished our trip by ticking off another bucket list goal; whale watching on a pirate ship! Look out for the blog post!
Whilst being unwell on holiday was unfortunate, we still celebrated the magic of Christmas together in a new place to explore. And that’s what Christmas is really all about, right?
Spending quality time with the people you love 💗
Anyone thinking of going abroad for Christmas? Do it!
An amazing experience albeit rather strange from our traditional winter celebrations at home.
I think it’s safe to say, this mumma will have her feet firmly on the ground in London this Christmas 🎄
– flight home & guess where else we have added to the bucket list?! ✈️
