“What shall we do today?” #MumProblems
This is one of the questions I hear, time and time again from mums. We spend a good few minutes racking our brains over a cuppa in the morning, and before we know it, its lunch time, and we haven’t moved off the sofa. #guilty
With half term starting tomorrow, its hard to fill the days with eventful and exciting adventures, that don’t cost the earth!
Getting the kids out of the house, doesn’t have to be an everyday thing during half term or the weekends. To be fair this weather is absolutely shit during these last winter months, so who doesn’t love a day in the comforts of your home! – they can be just as exciting!
I find mine love going out to new places more, when we have had a few days in. They simply appreciate & enjoy it more. As an example; Tyler was taken on holiday, 3 months in a row this year, and its got to a point now where, when I tell him we’re going on holiday, he doesn’t even sound as enthusiastic as he used to! We shall be staggering the big holidays now. I think we all appreciate them more…
Where to go?
I wanted to share with you, places that we love or are on our list to explore soon! Hopefully they will give you ideas of places close by that you wouldn’t necessary think of going to and stop those “What shall we do today” questions.

How to plan it?
So now you know where you want to go, try and plan it, so that the activity type is fit for the good old English weather!
If you fancy a soft play afternoon, rainy days will get you out the house but keep you snug. However, bare in mind this is when they will be their busiest. Try first thing in the morning or late afternoon for quieter spells.
I always check online for a deal or voucher when I know we will be visiting somewhere. A quick google search, their website or social media feeds, usually bring up any deals. It may be worth typing the company’s name in the search bar, on discount clubs apps such as, Groupon & Wowcher, just to see if they have a deal running on there right now too.
Also remember, places like LEGOLAND offer better entrance fees online when you book in advance, so plan ahead to save money!
Now, I am a self proclaimed OCD stationary whore, who just loves to be super organized. So if your like me, you will have your diary or a Half Term Print Out ready to plan your trips, ahead of time. This also enables me to food shop and to know what clothes will be needed earlier, than a mad dash around the house looking for something that’s not there!
I have created a FREE Half Term Planner, for you to print out and use.
Use it just for the weekends or print 6 for the big 6 weeks summer holidays.
I hope it comes in handy for you!
Until next week,
